LEADING WITH SERVICE & BUILDING CONNECTION

What does leading with service mean?

This means that you are about to step into an experience that you have likely never had before. I am not just here to take your photos. I am here to tell your story, to create memories that live on, that pass to the next generation and that decorate your home.

To do that, I can not be all digital.
I value human connection and getting to know WHO and WHY I am photographing a wedding. So much of those details come out through conversation and I want to make sure that the people you are telling me about, can be captured in the true likeness that you see. It's not about me... it's about telling your story the way it should be.

frequently asked questions

How do you get to know the couple beforehand?

Your Discovery Call and Engagement session! The Discovery call is when we first chat and I get to hear the details of your relationship- how you met, what you do, how he proposed the best basics ever.

Aside from the discovery call we have when we first connect, the engagement session is key in getting to know you. It's a great way for me to guage your comfortability in front of the camera and you can see what it is like to work with me.

How long have you been photographing weddings? What inspired you?

I photographed my first wedding in 2009 and have not looked back! 15 years of capturing love stories and I'm STILL as emotional and swept away by each of my couples on their wedding day.

I was inspired by a photographer who did my senior photos. This was when the idea of outdoor and on location photography was very new. She found the most unique places I would never had thought of and made this incredible photographic art. She taught me how to use my camera and the very foundation of my business. Thank you Lauren Clark.

How do you help couples compile their shot list?

After being in the industry for over a decade, I have key photos that I capture at every wedding. Those are the shots that don't change from wedding to wedding. Those are the ones you will not need to worry about and include moments like: putting on your dress, the rings, both views of the aisle as the bride walks down, The first kiss, the grand entrance, each reception tradition and many more.

If you have any specific to YOUR wedding moments you would like captured, we create a list that includes all of those, along with a family portrait list of every member and grouping you would like.

How do I know how many hours I need on my wedding day?

Great question! As a bride, it's hard to know how many hours are needed in order to capture what you envision. If you want us to capture ALL the little details, then 8-10 hours of coverage is recommended. This ensures we capture from the moment you finish hair and makeup to that last kiss of the night at the end of the sparkler tunnel.

A 6-hour coverage is sufficient if you don't care too much about EVERY getting ready detail or aren't putting a big emphasis on the exit. Collections begin at 6 hours, which allows my team to capture everything and not feel like we are rushing through the day.
